The Library & Information Centre is housed in the Administrative Block & having three floors including ground floor with a two mezzanine floors, measuring an area of 2661 sq.m. There are 10 staff members including qualified Librarian working in the library, having 600 seating capacity.

Bapuji Educational Association (BEA) is a conglomerate of over 50 educational institutions across the city of Davangere. The Association was established in 1958 with the inception of a first grade college in Davangere. Two medical colleges, two dental colleges, an engineering college - Bapuji Institute of Engineering & Technology (BIET) and numerous other colleges are associated with the association. The Bapuji Educational Association is one of the oldest and most prestigious educational associations in Karnataka. Today the association has grown to be a big tree, like the banyan, with all its twigs and branches. It runs schools and colleges right from Nursery to Post Graduate courses, from Diploma to Engineering, Nursing to Medical.
The most significant personality responsible for the all-round development of this association is Late Dr. Shamanur Shivashankarappa, former Hon. Secretary of the association. There are a number of philanthropists on the board of BEA who have been rendering selfless service to the cause of education. Dr. Shamanur Shivashankarappa is a doyen in the field of education. His contribution to the cause of higher education is immense and invaluable. Under his leadership, BEA has been able to make an indelible impression in the educational map of this country. He is the Member of Legislative Assembly of Karnataka, served as Member of Parliament and was the former minister of Horticulture and APMC, Govt. of Karnataka.
At present, the Hon. Secretary of the association is Sri. S.S. Mallikarjun, Minister of Mines & Geology and Horticulture in Government of Karnataka, Davanagere District Minister. A young and popular politician and industrialist, is the proud son of Smt. Parvathamma and Sri. Shamanur Shivashankarappa. Sri Mallikarjun has been successfully working for the welfare of the general public, particularly the downtrodden and economically weaker sections of the society. He is the icon of the youth of Davangere and is highly innovative and progressive in his thinking. He is a member of the Governing council of BIET and Joint secretary of BEA.
BIET has been in the forefront imparting high quality technical education and is one among the top ten colleges in the state of Karnataka. State of the art infrastructure in all branches of engineering, dedicated and qualified staff, highly conducive environment for teaching-learning and a lush green campus with an area of 375550 sq. m. is the hallmark of this professionally managed institution. At this juncture institute remembers the contributions of founder principal Late Prof G. S. Shivanna and his successor Prof. Y. Vrushabhendrappa. The institution is presently led by Dr. H. B. Aravind, Principal.
A true broad based education prepares students for life, without losing their areas of specialization and competence. The form of education we need today is not just to create an informed set of individuals; instead develop individuals- with character, commitment, conviction, courtesy and courage, who are cultured, who can shoulder the responsibility of taking the nation forward and making it stronger than ever before. BIET has understood the importance of broad based education and has created a conducive environment for the students to blossom into complete individuals. BIET believes in inculcating the right attitude in the minds of young students and develop them as individuals who have the innate desire not just to succeed in their own lives but also to contribute meaningfully to societal development in all possible spheres.
National River Conservation Directorate (NRCD), Ministry of Environment and Forest, Govt. of India recognized our institute as 'Reputed Scientific Institute'. IBM has recognized Dept. of CS&E as "Centre of Excellence" & given appreciation as "Learning Excellence & Technical Application of IBM Software". Institute has bagged KSCST "Best College" award 6 times in the SPP exhibition. ISRO & VTU have jointly identified BIET & have provided State-of-the-art V-SAT Channel under country's prestigious EDUSAT programme to this institute. Institute has Memorandum of Understanding with many leading industries, research organizations, and institutes of repute in India.
The institution conducts skill training for students and encourages students to participate in industrial projects. Visits to industries, regular class seminars, discussions on case studies, special lectures by industrial experts, EDUSAT programs, and NPTEL courses add further value to enable effective learning. Use of smart boards, PPT presentations, videos, and related software is encouraged to improve the learning capabilities of the students.
BIET has an Industry-Institute Partnership Cell (IIPC) striving hard to bridge the gap between Industries & Institute, to foster effective interaction between Industry and Institute to impart meaningful education and to promote industrial consultancy & entrepreneurship. Many of the faculty members have R & D projects sponsored by leading National and International agencies. Quite a number of faculty members are active industrial consultants and are engaged in development of software, processes, prototypes, and products. There has been substantial funding for research activities of the institute through AICTE, DST, DBT, MoEF, ICMR, CSIR, KSCST, SDC, VGST, NAIN and some reputed industries. So far, KSCST has sanctioned more than 625 student projects since 1983. The total grants of around rupees 4.5 crores has been received by the institute for major research projects. Several products have already been developed and commercialized by the product development center of the institute. Silk hank dyeing machine, Fabrofeel, Vacuum pump, Steady rest for grinding applications, Thermal cutting of glass, Pedal operated silk reeling machine, Sow box for power loom, Silk knitted products, Bio fuels, Health care research, environmental impact assessment etc. are some of the products and processes developed by the institute. Many of the departments are engaged in active industrial consultancy.
The alumni of this institute occupy very good positions in business, industry, R&D and academia in India and abroad. The Institute has consistently produced outstanding engineers who have excelled in their career and occupied responsible positions in some of the best known enterprises in India and across the globe. BIET has already produced some remarkably good entrepreneurs over the years and has all the necessary infrastructure and an incubation center in the institute to provide an excellent platform for students with innovative ideas and entrepreneurial qualities to blossom into real and worthy entrepreneurs. The Incubation center is sponsored by Dept. of IT, BT and ST, Karnataka State.
BIET has been consistently accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA), New Delhi, across multiple programs and cycles. The institute has received NBA accreditation during the years 2008, 2021–2024, 2022–2025 (EEE), 2023–2026 (CE, TX, ISE, BT), 2024–2027 (CV, CS, EC, ME), and 2025–2028 (EEE), reflecting sustained quality in technical education.
BIET has also been accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with an 'A' Grade in both cycles:
Cycle 1: Accredited with 'A' Grade, valid from 27-11-2017 to 2022
Cycle 2: Accredited with 'A' Grade, valid for 5 years from 08-07-2023 to 2028
Further, BIET is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under Sections 2(f) and 12(B).
