Undergraduate (B.E.) — 13 branches
Four years, eight semesters, affiliated to VTU Belagavi. Admission is through KCET, COMEDK or the management quota.
Computer Science & Engineering
Since 1984 — Nurturing Talent, Inspiring Innovation, Creating Global Leaders.
Information Science & Engineering
Established in 2000 with an initial intake of 60 students, the department has expanded its capacity to 180 seats. Over the last two decades, it has graduated more than 2,200 students, with learning facilitated through its dedicated laboratories and library.
Electronics & Communication Engineering
A founding 1979 department. Intake has climbed from thirty seats to 120, final-year pass rates hold above 95 per cent, and its students have taken 35 university ranks.
Electrical & Electronics Engineering
Running since 1979 and accredited three times by the NBA, with VTU research-centre status since 2009. Laboratories cover machines, power systems, control, high voltage and relays.
Mechanical Engineering
The oldest engineering department here, teaching since 1979. Intake doubled to 120 on demand from industry, and it runs both a research centre and a product development cell.
Civil Engineering
Established in 1979 and parent to both of the institute's civil PG programmes. Two research centres, plus a testing and consultancy practice serving agencies around Davanagere.
Chemical Engineering
Teaching since 1996 at an intake of thirty. Around 480 graduates so far, at least one university rank in every year, and eleven laboratories across a 2,000 m² block.
Textile Technology
Textile Technology trains for an industry in the middle of rapid change. The department takes “Work is worship” as its stated philosophy and measures itself against it.
Biotechnology
Established in 2002, NBA accredited and recognised by VTU as a research centre. Seven funded projects run here, across aeroallergens, bacteriophages, biofuels and tissue culture.
Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning
One of the institute's newer computing programmes, taught by a roster of twenty-four faculty across six departmental laboratories.
Computer Science & Engineering (Data Science)
Opened in 2022 at sixty seats. A core computer-science foundation carried into machine learning, big-data analytics, cloud computing and data visualisation.
Computer Science & Business Systems
Designed with Tata Consultancy Services and opened in 2023 at sixty seats. Analytics, machine learning, cloud and IoT, paired with humanities and business systems.
Computer Science & Design
Among the newest computing programmes at the institute, led by Dr. Chetana Prakash with a roster of ten faculty.
Postgraduate (M.Tech / MCA)
Six postgraduate programmes, all VTU-affiliated, with provisions for sponsored, full-time and part-time candidates.
Master of Computer Applications
Running since 1992 and now at an intake of 120 across four semesters. More than 1,300 graduates, taught in laboratories kept current with input from industry.
M.Tech — Environmental Engineering
A two-year M.Tech established in 2010, with 33 students on roll. Its laboratory runs HPLC, gas chromatography and atomic-absorption spectrophotometry down to ppb levels.
M.Tech — Structural Engineering
A two-year M.Tech in structural engineering, taught within the Civil department under Dr. Raghu M E.
M.Tech — IoT & Sensor Systems
A two-year M.Tech in IoT and sensor systems, offered by the Electronics & Communication department.
M.Tech — Cyber Security
A two-year M.Tech in cyber security, launched for the 2025-26 intake with 24 seats.
M.Tech — Artificial Intelligence and Data Science
A two-year M.Tech in artificial intelligence and data science, launched for the 2025-26 intake with 24 seats.
Applied Sciences & humanities
Four departments carry the first-year core and the science teaching that every branch depends on.
Physics
Among the very first departments, teaching from the institute's opening day in September 1979. Its independent laboratory, built in 1986, runs to 2,700 square feet.
Chemistry
Established in 1979 and, in 2002, the first department here recognised as a VTU research centre.
Mathematics
Teaching the mathematics every branch depends on since 1979. A Kuvempu University research centre since 2005, with doctoral work in biomechanics and industrial modelling.
Humanities
Humanities supports the language, communication and management teaching that runs across every branch. The institute publishes little else about the department.
Research
Fifteen VTU-recognised research centres across CSE, ECE, EEE, Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, Textile, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics and MCA — anchoring Ph.D. work and faculty research across the institute.
